This WE GO TOGETHER mix was originally put together back in August 2011, BUT, since I’m currently working on a bunch of interconnected website/project changes AND since this mix never had a proper blog post to accompany the Mixcloud mix, I figured all those elements equaled a good opportunity to repurpose some “old” content as “new” content.
Whenever you say that you like "country music", it is very important to clarify what you mean by "country music". The music on this playlist is what I am talking about when I profess my country liking and if you've ever listened to modern country radio, you should understand exactly why the clarification is needed.
“Their best album in a decade. Truly amazing that even after 30+ years JD is still writing songs that can stand up there with his all-time classics.”
Because I was born in the 80s, I feel a more nostalgic connection to the cartoons, movies and video games that come from that era than I do with some of the ‘polished in a uniquely 80s Capitalism/Consumerism way’ music, BUT, just like with any other decade, there’s a whole bunch of interesting gems worth discovering/revisiting — this eighties playlist being an example of that. |-> OPEN ON SPOTIFY
“This record is gonna have a huge impression on future generations of creators. Truly one of the most inspiring things I've heard in a long time, nothing short of a MASTERPIECE.”
“I realize that Australia and New Zealand are totally different countries and the people don't like being confused with each other *BUT* I think we can all agree that they're very close in proximity on the map and their flags kinda look the same, so… here's a 95 track playlist featuring artists from both totally different countries.”
“A friend of mine sent me this album and said "This might be the perfect punk album" and you know what I think he's right.”
“I have become a fermenting nut since the pandemic, and I have a small garden and things are just starting to come to fruition right now, so as well as enjoying fresh from the ground, I ferment... I had no idea it was so easy and cheap ... and the experimentation possibilities are limitless.”
Just because we’re only a few years into the 20/20s, don’t think that doesn’t mean there hasn’t already been way too many nice songs from way too many nice artists to count — AND — we’ve currently got a nice mix of 95 of ‘em over on this MOUN.TOWN/FM mix cd playlist, with “shuffle updates” done on an imprecise timeline. |-> OPEN ON SPOTIFY
The path I took to realizing I could just play any old retro video game right here on my old 2009 iMac was a bit more convoluted than it needed to be, but, hey, sometimes life is a bit more convoluted than it needs to be.
