ARCHIVES | MIX TAPE RADIO on FRUK - EPISODE 029
Since my iPhone 6 battery decided to completely go dead, to the point where it wouldn’t even work when plugged in, and since my 3 nieces were coming for a mountain town visit for the last week of June, I decided to announce a bit of a ‘no new blog content until my uncle-ing duties are over AND my diy iPhone battery replacement goes well and I have a functioning smart phone again’ break.
Luckily, as far as keeping my 'post a Mixcloud mix EVERY Monday & Thursday' plan for 2021 goes, I still had some "lost episodes" from when I was making mix tapes for Folk Radio UK metaphorically sitting in a shoe box under my desk. So, while I was living like a 1990s dude with no cellphone for a week of record-setting heat/sweat waves, I pulled a real futuristic move and pre-scheduled a couple dusty MTR episodes from twenty-fourteen to be uploaded to Mixcloud while I was living mostly a mostly offline life.
So, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed this headphone jump in time all the way back to a much colder February 2014, when Episode 29 first came out of the digital-mix-tape-oven…
…and now that my nieces have headed back over the mountain, I have time to jump on the big computer & finish putting together a blog post to accompany the mixes I scheduled to post on the HI54 Mixcloud while I was outside rotating between lakes, pools, and creeks — trying to avoid heat stroke & sun burns whilst also not being able to check my cellphone for an entire WEEK (which I was mostly successful at :)
