All in LONG PULLS
“One of, if not the best pieces of advice I've ever been given (and one that has become an inner mantra) is to ‘remain teachable.’“
Since I have a blog that shares things I like, I figured I would start compiling monthly lists of available-on-Tubi titles that I think are worth adding to your own Watchlist, just in case anyone else out there is also looking to fish from the same free-to-stream waters. So here’s five for November…
“I actually like getting up at 6, when the world is still asleep. In this darkness and silence, I feel like it's easier to hear my own mind and I can get into this great creative flow. But I guess not everyone is a morning person.”
“Exercise, get outside and stay active. I think as artists we can loose sight of the world beyond our DAW, studios and music in general. There’s a whole world out there that wants to get explored, you just might find some inspiration while you’re out there in it.”

“During these very weird months, I recommend everyone to pick up something they love to do, but maybe haven't had the time to do in a ‘normal situation’ (if it's safe and still allowed with your country's restrictions).”
“Sounds pretty basic and obvious but I'm super aware of the connection between my own happiness/mental health and making stuff. I get joy out of completing tangible tasks with my hands. I built a table the other day.”
“There’s just something so magical about picking up a release on vinyl from your local record shop and the curated process of browsing through what a store has is an added bonus. It’s a great way to support local businesses and artists so put your mask on and go do that!”
10 more retro titles that I’d recommend adding to your hacked Sega Mini if you’re an old millennial like me who pretty much stopped playing video games in the late 90s but is now looking to revisit that golden era of gaming with hard-to-impress 2020 glasses on (Sega Master System + Turbo Grafx-16 edition).
“Your own life is just as it needs to be, how could it not be. So forget about that, and try to make other people’s lives better.”
Because finding & adding retro consoles/games to your hacked Sega Mini is sometimes more enticing than actually playing the games — I started looking into whether I could add Sega Master System and Turbo Grafx-16 / PC Engine titles to my collection of nostalgia (spoiler: I could).
“So the next time you're reading another depressing article about how everything is fucked, just remember that isn't totally true. Sure, A LOT of things are fucked — but A LOT of things are less fucked than before. And the tools for unfucking even more shit are sitting right in front of us.”
