In search of a routine more likely to get a new mix together for MTR - FRESH TAPES rotations on the weekly (back when I was doing a stretch of “a new Mixcloud mix EVERY week’ ambitions), I started mixing my mix tape making headphone time with my mix cd playlist shuffle updating headspace near the end of 2019 and I’ll be damned if it didn’t turn out to be one those rare “this seems like a good idea” ideas that actually turned out to be a good idea (as far as getting new mixes out the door every week)… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ … perhaps I need to look into bringing back some kind of version of this back here in 2023 (where I’m currently on a “new Mixcloud mix WHENEVER I have time and am not on a social media hiatus and/or re-thinking websites and etc” stretch)?

MTR - EPISODE 176
{a ‘Valentines-ish-Flavoured’ episode}Episode 176 was created while shuffling around in the ongoing HI54 Mix CD ‘I LOVE YOU & STUFF’ — which is an ongoing Spotify playlist I keep stocked with 95 Valentines-ish jams that you can throw on the speakers for Valentines Day or really just any day that you're feeling like feeling some Valentines-ish feelings (and you can follow that playlist on Spotify for future repeat shuffle updates and/or find it & a whole bunch more 95-track mix cd playlists over on MOUN.TOWN/FM).

And since Spotify/streaming is great for discovering, sharing & keeping track of music, but not so very good in the way creators are paid for their work, especially in comparison to what others are making off renting out access to the artist’s work, I’ve started keeping a Buy Music Club list going for all the ‘available on Bandcamp’ tracks that get added to the above Spotify playlist — so check that out whenever you find yourself wanting to reward your ears while also directly sending out support/compensation to those who help keep our lives nicely soundtracked.
