The 2020 quarantine had me doing a lot of 80s/90s video gaming (a hobby that has continued “post”-pandemic) — so here’s my personally subjective list of top Gameboy / Gameboy Color games that are still fun/worth spending time playing all these years later (in case anyone else is looking to get into a similar nostalgic distraction).
“A gorgeous, shimmering set of songs that combines ultra-smooth pop sounds (recalling the softer moments of Destroyer's "Kaputt") with sweet ambient textures. Fantastic songwriting work, as well. A joy to listen to, and a clear early contender for 2021's album of the year.”

This ‘Afternoon Beers’ mix was originally put together back in 2016 — but, as long as you make sure the beer you drink with it is also not from 2016, I think you’ll find things still taste good to the ears all these years later (also, I’m working on website/project changes and repurposing old content to play around with things is kind of my thing).

Canada gets a lot of stick for our overt niceness, being obsessed with hockey and a bunch of other ‘simple folk’ stereotypes—but people often forget that in between the maple syrup free-basing we do to distract from our colonial past/present, we also make a lot of really good music. This playlist highlights some of it, from coast to unceded coast.
