Episode 196 of The Mix Tape Radio Show features 8 gems shuffled out of the ongoing HI54 Mix CD WHEN I SAID I LIKE “COUNTRY MUSIC” - ft. Emmylou Harris, Travis Linville, Melissa Carper, Andrew Sa + a bunch more country-flavoured headphone goodness.
Here's the 20th instalment of the bi-weekly Mixcloud series where I go back to the iTunes organizational system I had setup when I used to run a 24/7 internet radio station, and then I shuffle up a selection of 95-tracks that have been rated as 'Mix Tape Radio approved' and put together an 18-track HI54 Mixed CD.
The HI54 ‘Provincial Playlists’ idea continues, this time with 95 nice tracks from 95 different artists being carefully exported from the Canadian province of Alberta for your listening pleasure / headphone tourism needs.

An ongoing mix of artists from The Mediterranean (Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco; Malta and Cyprus islands + I’m also including Portugal because it’s so damn close in location & vibe).
Since my iPhone battery decided to go dead, and since my 3 nieces were coming for a mountain town visit for the last week of June, I decided to take a ‘mostly offline’ break. BUT… since I had some “lost episodes” in the pocket, I scheduled some Mixcloud uploads for the usual Monday & Thursday mixes. So here’s MTR EPS 032 (the final lost one).
“Heart breaking, sincere, irresistibly charming and just an immense treat of an indie rock album to listen to. Much has been said about vocalist Frances Quinlan's rather captivating and even idiosyncratic vocals and this album shows it off wonderfully in all of it's power, angst and vulnerability.”
My iPhone 6’s battery has completely died & doesn’t even work if plugged in. So, until my diy battery replacement kit arrives in the mail, which lines up nicely with my nieces being in town for vacation anyways, I will be taking a break from new blahg content until early July, 2021.
“I have 3 little nieces. They are currently 12, 11 and 8. This is a playlist I keep updated with songs I think / hope they might like, that I also like. So, yeah, it is made for a very niche audience… but if you like the sounds of a non-bloke heavy mix, you might also dig it in your headphones too.”
