EPISODE 131 | THE MIX TAPE RADIO SHOW
Since Bandcamp is making this Friday, March 20th a very special day to show your support for artists/bands/labels during the Covid-19 Pandemic (ie. Bandcamp is waiving their revenue shares on any purchase made on March 20th, so all money will go directly to the artists, read more here) I figured I would break from the usual pattern of basing my weekly Mix Tape Radio episode on a HI54 Mix CD and, instead, I would compile this week’s mix tape from the long-running HI54 series Fandcamp (which is where I share albums with reviews from people who liked an album so much they actually purchased it directly from the artist).
I mean, I always try to use Bandcamp embeds first whenever I put together one of these episodes, but sometimes I use tracks that aren’t available on Bandcamp (usually because they are old releases, but also sometimes current bands still don’t have their music available on Bandcamp, which is something I still don’t understand), but this week in particular I want to start off with the criteria that track had to be available on Bandcamp, so I went digging through the blog’s massive Fandcamp archive.
So if you hear anything you like on the latest MTR episode, make sure to make a note to go support the artist directly on Bandcamp this Friday, March 20th.
