Jun 29 BLAHG VACATION / (MOSTLY) OFFLINE UNCLE MODE ACTIVATED | JUNE 29 - JULY 24

Just sharing a pic of the strawberries I picked this morning at the garden we're looking after while some friends are away on an Alaskan road trip to say that our 3 nieces (and their parents) are coming to our little mountain town for a week-long vacation, starting tomorrow — SO — I am also going to be giving myself a wee vacation from all of my self-assigned blogging duties for at least the next week or so (such as the EVERY Monday & Friday MOUN.TOWN/FM shuffle updates, or the EVERY Wednesday MOUN.TOWN/RADIO mix tape radio rotation updates, or all the other random et cetera I get up to online via @HI54LOFI and @95EHdotCA).

Out of developed habits, I might still do some website updating in the background (and I'll try to keep The 95EH Events Calendar up-to-date with local area events + I'll prob pop online to keep doing #TheDailyEh?! on the 95EH Facebook for the locals), not to mention that there's plenty of already existing content to go poke around on over on the easily remembered HI54.BLOG or MOUN.TOWN or 95EH.CA domains if that urge ever comes up for anybody.

ANNNNND… just to close the loop on the final phone-in hearing that was held last night in regards to the 'Marysville McDonalds' situation — a total of 10 people called in to voice their opinion and 9 of them were AGAINST the proposal + 1 was FOR it (and you can watch the video on the City of Kimberley's Youtube page if interested, as thoughtful points were made once again, just sans audience applause like the night before, when 47 spoke AGAINST and 3 spoke FOR).

Add those public hearing splits up with the overwhelming number of written comments that have been sent in AGAINST this specific proposal (I don't believe an official updated tally has been communicated with the public, but I believe it is HUNDREDS of signatories AGAINST this proposal vs a handful of signatories in favour), so it seems to me that the only way that this proposal is getting pushed thru council is if the ol' "but what about the silent majority?" card gets pulled (and, unfortunately, I wouldn’t rule that possibility out, as it’s happened before in the world of local politics… wherever “local” is for you).

But hopefully that's not an outcome I'll have to blahg about after I get back online from my little vacation of hosting family coming to vacation in this wonderful little town that I don't have to go anywhere to vacation in myself.

And on that note… Uncle Mode™ is now activated and I’ll internet at y’all later (but probably not fully-back to the usual weekly output until the start of August if I’m being realistic with my Still Need To Do list)✌️
