ARCHIVES | MIX TAPE RADIO on FRUK - EPISODE 031
Since my iPhone 6 battery decided to completely go dead at the official start of summer, and since my 3 nieces were coming for a mountain town visit for the last week of June, I decided to announce a bit of a ‘no new blog content until my uncle-ing duties are over AND my diy iPhone battery replacement goes well and I have a functioning smart phone again’ break. Oh yeah, and I guess I now live under something called a “Heat Dome” (which, in layman terms, seems to mean that EVERY DAY is now +30°C), so that has also factored in the need for taking a break from working in my non-AC’d office.
Luckily, as far as keeping my 'post a Mixcloud mix EVERY Monday & Thursday' plan for 2021 goes, I still had some "lost episodes" from when I was making mix tapes for Folk Radio UK metaphorically sitting in a shoe box under my desk. So, before I started living like a 2001-model uncle with no cellphone for a week of record-setting heat/sweat waves, I pulled a real futuristic move and pre-scheduled a few dusty MTR episodes from twenty-fourteen to be uploaded to Mixcloud while I was living a more offline/outside life.
So, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed this headphone jump in time all the way back to a much cooler March 2014, when Episode 31 first came out of the digital-mix-tape-oven I was baking from back in Nottingham…
…and now that my nieces have headed back over the Rocky Mountains in the present day, I have time to jump on my trusty ol’ computer (the same one that I was making mix tapes on in ‘14) and finish putting together a blog post to accompany the mixes past-me scheduled to post on the HI54 Mixcloud while I was out there rotating between lakes, pools, and creeks sans smartphone for AN ENTIRE WEEK!
