“Quit your job. Move to Wales. Buy a soprano saxophone.”
This isn’t a competition. It’s a collaboration.

“Go and do that ‘thing’ that you have always wanted to do. Make the time and try to enjoy the process.”
Another SHUFFLE UP’D EIGHT has been pulled — but this week’s featured shuffle update is for the ‘INDIE AMERICA, USA’ playlist (which just so happens to be an ongoing shuffle 95 “indie” tracks from 95 artists making music south of border - assuming you live north of the border like me).
Since the year in question is 2016, and since 20X16 = 320, this yearly summary playlist consists of 320 nice tunes released in the year 2016. From 320 different artists. Reshuffled on the regular for repeat shuffles. You can’t argue with that math.
“Ex members of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Smith Westerns went from Chicago to California, slept in tents in Jonathan Rado's backyard, and recorded this album - I can't not love it”
“Stop watching or reading regular news. It only puts fear and worries into peoples heads. You'll have a much happier life without it.”
“I’m not saying socks will lead to true happiness, but I think they probably help. Sorry, and also love yourself and carpe diem and all the rest of it. But mainly the socks. After all, socks last longer than thoughts ever do.”
“Track for track, one of the best albums I've heard in some time. Fuzzy guitars. Fuzzy vocals. Crystal clear hooks.”
Episode 101 kicks off with Mr. Husband, and before you close things out with Tugboat Captain you’ll hear some Mountain Man, Human Barbie, Stephen Malkmus, WIDOWSPEAK and a bunch more niceness.
“Workout. It really sucks in the moment, but it really improves my body, sense of self, and overall attitude in life.”
“I'm crazy about this album. It's dark and light and all the in-betweens. Its got risk running through it.”
