20 from '19 | THE HI54 YEARBOOK MIXES

The ‘HI54 YEARBOOK MIXES’ series continues with music from the year 2019 — featuring tunes from The Saxophones, Purple Mountains, Charlotte Cornfield, Billy Woods + a whole bunch more… it’s a nice ‘19 vintage to stick in your headphones.

MEDITERRANEAN MIXER | #HI54MIXCDS on MOUN.TOWN/FM

An ongoing mix of artists from The Mediterranean (Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco; Malta and Cyprus islands + I’m also including Portugal because it’s so damn close in location & vibe).

ARCHIVES | MIX TAPE RADIO on FRUK - EPISODE 032

Since my iPhone battery decided to go dead, and since my 3 nieces were coming for a mountain town visit for the last week of June, I decided to take a ‘mostly offline’ break. BUT… since I had some “lost episodes” in the pocket, I scheduled some Mixcloud uploads for the usual Monday & Thursday mixes. So here’s MTR EPS 032 (the final lost one).

Fandcamp: Painted Shut

“Heart breaking, sincere, irresistibly charming and just an immense treat of an indie rock album to listen to. Much has been said about vocalist Frances Quinlan's rather captivating and even idiosyncratic vocals and this album shows it off wonderfully in all of it's power, angst and vulnerability.”

NIECHES | #HI54MIXCDS ON MOUN.TOWN/FM

“I have 3 little nieces. They are currently 12, 11 and 8. This is a playlist I keep updated with songs I think / hope they might like, that I also like. So, yeah, it is made for a very niche audience… but if you like the sounds of a non-bloke heavy mix, you might also dig it in your headphones too.”

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED W/ OPRIS

“We can now learn how to change our oil, or code, or play guitar for (almost)free and build community far and wide. It allows anyone to be seen for making comedy videos, or showcasing their music to a massive audience, or spreading their personal experiences and helping others empathize. It can really be used to bring humanity together... or tear us apart.”
