HIGHLY RECOMMENDED W/ SANCTUARY

#1 - WHAT IS THE ONE ALBUM (OR EP OR SONG) THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE THE VERY NEXT MUSICAL THING THAT EVERYONE PRESSES PLAY ON THE NEXT TIME THEY FIND THEMSELVES THINKING “WHAT SHOULD I LISTEN TO NOW”?
I’ve found myself going back and listening to some of the artists that got me interested in music. Funny enough, I’ve been revisiting some of Marvin Gaye’s albums from the early 70’s, not many people know this, but he wrote the soundtrack to a film in ’72 and the “single” Trouble Man is one of my favorite songs of all time.
I’d recommend everyone listens to it, you won’t hear anything like it today.
#2 - WHAT IS THE ONE MOVIE OR TV SHOW THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE NEXT IN EVERYBODY’S NETFLIX QUEUE (OK, DOESN’T HAVE TO BE NETFLIX, WE’RE ALL INTERNET ADULTS HERE AND KNOW HOW TO FIND ANYTHING ONLINE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)?
It’s old news, but Succession is probably my favorite thing on TV/streaming right now. It’s a brilliant show with incredible writing and great actors.
#3. I (AND BY “I” I MEAN “THE PERSON THAT IS READING THIS”) AM GOING TO THE LOCAL BOOK STORE (OK, MAYBE THE LOCAL LIBRARY FIRST) TO FIND THE VERY NEXT BOOK THAT I WILL BE PUTTING SOME EXTREMELY VALUABLE ‘ME-TIME' ASIDE FOR. WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU GET, IF YOU WERE ME (AND, I SUPPOSE, YOU HADN’T ALREADY READ WHAT YOU’RE ABOUT TO SUGGEST)?
I read “A Little Life” not too long ago, it was recommended to me by a friend. It's beautiful but devastating, so I’m not sure I’d recommend it.
I’m usually more interested in non-fiction and prefer to read about topics online, there's so much information. I think I’d just recommend finding a topic you’re interested in every week and scheduling 1hr a week to dive in.
#4 - WHAT IS THE ONE WEBSITE (OR JUST ANY OLD INTERNET THING: APP, GIF, SERVICE, WHATEVER) THAT YOU WOULD GET REALLY DOWN IN THE DUMPS ABOUT IF IT WERE TO SUDDENLY GO AWAY?
YouTube, hands down. It’s my go-to whenever I need a crash course in something or a “how-to” tutorial.
#5 - AND FINALLY… PLEASE GIVE ONE COMPLETELY UNAIDED RECOMMENDATION THAT YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD START DOING / USING / WATCHING / EATING / THINKING / QUITTING / ETC-ING TO MAKE THEIR LIVES A LITTLE BIT MORE BETTER AND/OR BEARABLE.
With so much information and content out there, I’ve been enjoying podcasts that aren’t necessarily about anything specific, just to take a break from the gravity of todays media. If you’re looking to tune out and laugh check out Smartless.
