HIGHLY RECOMMENDED W/ CLOUD
#1 - WHAT IS THE ONE ALBUM (OR EP OR SONG) THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE THE VERY NEXT MUSICAL THING THAT EVERYONE PRESSES PLAY ON THE NEXT TIME THEY FIND THEMSELVES THINKING “WHAT SHOULD I LISTEN TO NOW”?
João Gilberto - João Gilberto (1961) DUH. It has this ability to never ever get old despite existing for nearly 60 years. He has this way of ending a song in such a peculiar jingle coda.
I play these records on my turntable and it sounds so nice. One of the true masters!
#2 - WHAT IS THE ONE MOVIE OR TV SHOW THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE NEXT IN EVERYBODY’S NETFLIX QUEUE (OK, DOESN’T HAVE TO BE NETFLIX, WE’RE ALL INTERNET ADULTS HERE AND KNOW HOW TO FIND ANYTHING ONLINE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)?
Whoa. Let's choose Filmstruck since that's where all the good ones are at these days. Watch À Nos Amours (1983)
It’s definitely not the one everyone should watch but I think it’s a very interesting look at coming of age, sexuality and family. Also Sandrine Bonnaire is magnificent!
3. I (AND BY “I” I MEAN “THE PERSON THAT IS READING THIS”) AM GOING TO THE BOOK STORE (OK, PROBABLY AMAZON) TO FIND THE VERY NEXT BOOK THAT I WILL BE PUTTING SOME EXTREMELY VALUABLE ‘ME-TIME' ASIDE FOR. WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU GET, IF YOU WERE ME (AND, I SUPPOSE, YOU HADN’T ALREADY READ WHAT YOU’RE ABOUT TO SUGGEST)?
Right now I’m reading Narcissus and Goldmund by Hesse which is cool.
Also to cheat and give a second I think every artists bible could easily be Notes on the Cinematographer by Robert Bresson. It wasn’t even a book he wrote to spread wisdom, it’s just … his personal notes.
Essentially, it’s a collection of aphorisms, potent zingers of poetry and brilliance!
#4 - WHAT IS THE ONE WEBSITE (OR JUST ANY OLD INTERNET THING: APP, GIF, SERVICE, WHATEVER) THAT YOU WOULD GET REALLY DOWN IN THE DUMPS ABOUT IF IT WERE TO SUDDENLY GO AWAY?
www.letterboxd.com. It’s so much better than what last.fm ended up as.
It’s my favorite of the social medias.
#5 - AND FINALLY… PLEASE GIVE ONE COMPLETELY UNAIDED RECOMMENDATION THAT YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD START DOING / USING / WATCHING / EATING / THINKING / QUITING / ETC-ING TO MAKE THEIR LIVES A LITTLE BIT MORE BETTER AND/OR BEARABLE.
Making life more bearable? When you eat delicious food, realize that it makes you dance. (!)
OK folks, there you have it. Things that Tyler from Cloud thinks you should consider incorporating into your day/life. Before you log off to go find some delicious dancing food, make sure you follow Cloud on Twitter & Facebook & Instagram and then go dig into that new single and all the other great Cloud tunes over on the Cloud Bandcamp.
