#1 - WHAT IS THE ONE ALBUM (OR EP OR SONG) THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE THE VERY NEXT MUSICAL THING THAT EVERYONE PRESSES PLAY ON THE NEXT TIME THEY FIND THEMSELVES THINKING “WHAT SHOULD I LISTEN TO NOW”?

If you find yourself alone with time to kill. Doing the dishes- folding up clothes- If you’re feeling like connecting with yourself and just floating ‘round in there for awhile I would recommend listening to: William Basinski’s ‘The Disintegration Loops’ - DIp1.

Don’t know how I came across this but am glad I did. Opened up a whole new world of music for me- One I am set on investigating.

Also- I’ve come to realize that Tyrkish psychedelic rock is pretty rad. Altin Gün.

#2 - WHAT IS THE ONE MOVIE OR TV SHOW THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE NEXT IN EVERYBODY’S NETFLIX QUEUE (OK, DOESN’T HAVE TO BE NETFLIX, WE’RE ALL INTERNET ADULTS HERE AND KNOW HOW TO FIND ANYTHING ONLINE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)?

I’m not a big netflixer and am painfully aware that whatever I could recommend would seem lame (mainly because I’m so far behind). Therefore I’m just gonna dive in and tell you that I enjoy watching blooper reels of Tim & Eric on youtube.

That “Don’t Call Me Uncle” song has something.

#3. I (and by “I” I mean “whoever is reading this”) am going to the local book store (ok, maybe the local library first) to find the very next book that I will be putting some valuable ‘me-time' aside for. Which book would you get, if you were me (and, I suppose, you hadn’t already read what you’re about to suggest)?

I have a beloved aunt in New York who recommended I read “How To Win Friends And Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. She even gave me a copy of the book that I regret to say I have yet to read. Maybe it’s time we all read it?

Also it’s worth mentioning that I really enjoy the poetry book “The Singing Knives” by Frank Stanford. Fantastic imagery- Highly recommendable to anyone looking for a nicely varied dish of words.

#4 - WHAT IS THE ONE WEBSITE (OR JUST ANY OLD INTERNET THING: APP, GIF, SERVICE, WHATEVER) THAT YOU WOULD GET REALLY DOWN IN THE DUMPS ABOUT IF IT WERE TO SUDDENLY GO AWAY?

#5 - AND FINALLY… PLEASE GIVE ONE COMPLETELY UNAIDED RECOMMENDATION THAT YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD START DOING / USING / WATCHING / EATING / THINKING / QUITtING / ETC-ING TO MAKE THEIR LIVES A LITTLE BIT MORE BETTER AND/OR BEARABLE.

I have a one-and-a-half year old son now, and laying flat on the floor with him drawing with crayons is nice. Neither of us are very good (yet!) but apart from doing what you can to save the world and being kind to your fellow man I suggest you take up doodling every now and then in the afternoon while eating watermelon.

Here’s a flamingo and a burning barn.

OK folks, there you have it. Things that Chorus Grant thinks you should consider incorporating into your day/life. Before you log off and go find a toddler to draw with, make sure to follow Chorus Grant on the Facebook / Instagram / Twitter and then also give ‘Give It A Name’ a listen below…

…and if you like what you’re hearing, go do some further chorus-grant-flavoured audio exploring over on the Bandcamp / Spotify.
