#1 - WHAT IS THE ONE ALBUM (OR EP OR SONG) THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE THE VERY NEXT MUSICAL THING THAT EVERYONE PRESSES PLAY ON THE NEXT TIME THEY FIND THEMSELVES THINKING “WHAT SHOULD I LISTEN TO NOW”?
Iulia: I’ve been having trouble getting into any new music lately, but Joshua Lewis’s “Too Soft” caught my ear recently. He’s an artist from Boise, Idaho, where I played with my other band Nutrients a few weeks ago at Treefort music festival. Very lush harmonies and amazing production.
Scott: Self-titled by Badge Époque Ensemble. Super cool, jazzy, meandering.
#2 - WHAT IS THE ONE MOVIE OR TV SHOW THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE NEXT IN EVERYBODY’S NETFLIX QUEUE (OK, DOESN’T HAVE TO BE NETFLIX, WE’RE ALL INTERNET ADULTS HERE AND KNOW HOW TO FIND ANYTHING ONLINE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)?
Iulia: Succession!! I’m so excited to start the new season and bask in the sleek and dirty underworld of all-powerful media conglomerates.

I (AND BY “I” I MEAN “THE PERSON THAT IS READING THIS”) AM GOING TO THE LOCAL BOOK STORE (OK, MAYBE THE LOCAL LIBRARY FIRST) TO FIND THE VERY NEXT BOOK THAT I WILL BE PUTTING SOME EXTREMELY VALUABLE ‘ME-TIME' ASIDE FOR. WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU GET, IF YOU WERE ME (AND, I SUPPOSE, YOU HADN’T ALREADY READ WHAT YOU’RE ABOUT TO SUGGEST)?
Iulia: I’m currently reading “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong and really loving it. I usually underline passages I like in the books I read but I can’t do that with this one because I’d be underlining the whole goddamn thing!
Scott: Since it’s October and spooky season - House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewsky. Wild trip nestled within a dream within a third layer of some kind. So many layers to peel.
#4 - WHAT IS THE ONE WEBSITE (OR JUST ANY OLD INTERNET THING: APP, GIF, SERVICE, WHATEVER) THAT YOU WOULD GET REALLY DOWN IN THE DUMPS ABOUT IF IT WERE TO SUDDENLY GO AWAY?
Iulia: That would have to be Youtube. Even though I currently feel like there’s nothing to watch on it (overdid it during the pandemic I think), it’s an endless world of niche entertainment. And it’s so useful whenever you need to learn how to do something.
Scott: Probably YouTube. But for a recommendation, my favourite music site is SputnikMusic. Lots of good alt and metal reviews.
#5 - AND FINALLY… PLEASE GIVE ONE COMPLETELY UNAIDED RECOMMENDATION THAT YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD START DOING / USING / WATCHING / EATING / THINKING / QUITTING / ETC-ING TO MAKE THEIR LIVES A LITTLE BIT MORE BETTER AND/OR BEARABLE.
Iulia: Meditation. I used to have to listen to something to fall asleep, but now I've finally learned to let go of my insane thoughts and just drift off.
Scott: If you’re working from home, get a standing desk setup. It’ll encourage you to walk around more and not stay stuck in one spot all day.
