SHUFFLE UPDATE: August 19, 2019
I originally started these weekly ‘SHUFFLE UP’d EIGHT’ posts as a way to highlight a few tracks (ok, 8 tracks if you want to get specific) from the weekly reshuffling ‘HI54 WEEKLY SHUFFLE’ playlist (which I update every Sunday with a fresh batch of 54 tracks/artists for anyone not already following on Spotify), but then I started thinking:
What if the “shuffle up’d 8” got pulled from a different HI54 Spotify playlist? Y’know, as a way to highlight a differently themed HI54 Mix CD every wee, because those playlists are getting altered & reshuffled on the regular too?
And since my 2019 tracker for all the songs I’ve liked so far (*that have managed to make it into my headphones) is already over 550+ tracks/artists (which seems wild for mid-August, especially considering how most people will be able to go through the full list and find lots of stuff they can’t believe is not in there), I figured this would be as good a week as any to highlight some of the nice artists you’ll find in the ongoing HI54 Mix CD ‘EVERYTHING LIKED IN: <INSERT CURRENT YEAR>’ (♫ which you can follow on Spotify for future track updates):
And to check-off my self-imposed ‘Every Monday, You Gotta Prepare 8 Bandcamp Embeds for the Hype Machine Bots, Because Hype Machine Doesn’t Grab Spotify Tracks’ rule for this week, I’ve pulled out eight gems from this week’s shuffle update below — so if/when you hear something you like, make sure to check the artist out further at one of the links provided:

And I guess that’s about that for the SHUFFLE UP’D EIGHT for this week’s shuffle update (and yes, you’re right: “shuffle up’d eight” does sound a lot like “shuffle update”).
Hopefully you’ll find a few new pieces for your personal headphone collection, whether that be from the 8 tracks highlighted above, or from one of the many other excellent tracks/artists featured in the full ‘EVERYTHING LIKED IN < INSERT CURRENT YEAR >’ playlist — which gets updated regularly if you fancy following along for future shuffles.
