THE MIX TAPE RADIO MIX CDs | DISC 03

I've been trying to think of a manageable way to not only start uploading more shows to Mixcloud, but also some longer mixes than my usual 8-track Mix Tape Radio Show episodes that I post each week, especially now that I have a handful of cool people supporting my mix-making thru Mixcloud Select. As I pondered, eventually I was reminded of the music sorting system I had set up in iTunes back when I was running a 24/7 internet radio stream called 'Mix Tape Radio' — which, eventually, lead me to an idea.

What if I use the 'randomized playlist' function that I used to use to create my internet radio programming with to shuffle up a selection of 'mix tape radio approved' songs that I could then use to put together an old skool mix cd? And what if, instead of taking on all the extra time that goes into creating a blog post with individual track embeds and artist links and cover art and social media posts that tag everyone (that I do & will continue to do with all the weekly Mix Tape Radio Show episodes—which is also why those MTR episodes have worked their way down over the years to the sweet spot of just 8 songs long), what if I just posted these new mixed cds to Mixcloud and got rid of all those other menial tasks that have been keeping me from taking on the task of making hour long mixes?

And, well, here we are with a new series: THE MIX TAPE RADIO MIX CDs (which I’m going to start of doing on a bi-weekly basis, but I might go weekly with it if more people are interested in joining the HI54 Mixcloud Select crew).
