THE MONTHLY SUNDAY MASS EMAIL

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve sent out a newsletter. And even when I did do one, I never managed to get it out consistently.

I guess it’s because newsletters often end up feeling like a drawn out way to come across as basically saying, “hey just in case you didn’t already see on Facebook, Twitter, Insta… here’s some things that I also tried to get you to click on over there” and that starts to feel more like an annoyance for both parties— but, on the other hand — Facebook, Twitter, Insta have become really good places to miss out on many things that would have been of interest if they crossed the right person’s path in the right setting (i.e. like far away from the Al Gore Rhythms, in a much less hectic & distracted monthly email).

Or at least that’s the plan with firing up a once a month newsletter to share what’s been going on around HI54 Headquarters (aka an unfinished apartment in a small mountown). Nothing too ambitious and impossible to maintain, just me sitting down and putting together 5 things from the past 30 days that might be of interest to someone other than me. Maybe that’s you?

It’s tentatively called ‘The Monthly Sunday Mass Email’ and you can sign-up below:

See this form in the original post

I will be sending thE MONTHLY SUNDAY MASS EMAIL out on the 2nd Sunday of every month — which means the first one will be going out January 12th 2020 \m/

As an avid unsubscriber of newsletters these past couple years myself, I’m well aware of email/information overload, so I will aim to make these newsletters more like receiving a monthly catch-up of things you might also like to spend some time with and not just me spamming your inbox with re-purposed social media requests for people to visit the blog. Yes, there will be some mix tapes and mix cds and highlights from the blahg — but there will also be some first draft thoughts and sharing other people’s much-cooler-than-mine stuff.

And the list will always be kept at 5. And just once a month. On the second Sunday. Please subscribe above if that feels like a newsletter you’d like to take a chance on.
