Mix Tape Radio on FRUK: Episode 001
Friday the 27th of July marks the first episode of "MIX TAPE RADIO on FOLK RADIO UK". As the name implies, it's a mix tape and it will be airing on Folk Radio UK. For the first week, it will air exclusively over on Folk Radio UK – as a part of their excellent 24 hour stream – in a designated time slot. To listen, you just need to tune in at the right time (and you can listen more than a few ways, one of which being directly on their Facebook page).
After the first week, I will then put the show up on the HI54LOFI Mixcloud page, where you can listen till your heart is content.
I originally was going to talk in between tracks (you know, as they say in the radio world, 'banter'), but that ended up being too much extra effort and stress (also, I don't think the world needs to hear me having an out loud one way conversation with myself: “That was a great track” - “It sure was Jeremy, where can the folks get it?” - “Well Jeremy, it's available at…”). So instead of that, I decided to just focus my energy on putting together a lovely 1 hour mix tape of just music and not me blabbing awkwardly.
Besides being 1 hour of music I love, this mix also features a track from what will hopefully be a fairly consistent, ongoing installation called ‘Bedroom Sessions’, which is basically a Daytrotter-esque recording session done by an artist in, you guessed it, their bedroom (or closest equivalent DIY setting). Those Bedroom Sessions will then be made available to download for free over on the HI54LOFI RECORDS Bandcamp page.
And to give you a taste of what that is, the first session from A Singer Of Songs has been made available a few days before the first airing of EPISODE 001.
EPISODE 001 - TRACK LISTING
Besides searching for whatever tracks / artists tickle your fancy on whichever music site you prefer to use / is available in your country, I've included links to exfm for each track (as it is not only one of my favourite sites, but also available across all borders).
On top of that, I will also be posting more about the music included in this episode throughout the week, and you can filter all those posts by clicking on the Episode 001 tag (and you can click on any of the artist tags below to see any other posts that may feature said artist).
