HIP STIR HOP @ HOURGLASS KIMBERLEY | A HI54 SOCIALLY DISTANT DJ SET (03032022)
I asked a local cocktail lounge (whose website I also put together, s/o The Hourglass in Kimberley, BC) if they would be interested in playing a 54-track hip hop mix cd (aka: a curated playlist) on a slow Thursday night to see if that’s something that people might come out to have some drinks to (and, worse case scenario, it just ends up being a normal Thursday night soundtracked by a hip hop playlist that can be shared the next day for whoever wants to listen whenever, or whatever etc).
They said yep and… last night, the first Thursday of March 2022, they pressed play on this HI54 Hip Hop Mix CD and now you can too:

And if your ears are liking what they’re hearing, it would probably be a good idea to like/follow over on Spotify so you can return for easy future shuffles. And, as always, when you hear something you like, do the universe some good and support/check those artists out further (every little bit helps).

But they’re not the only tracks you could go from discovering on a streaming service that pays artists fractions of pennies to directly supporting that artist on Bandcamp, which is one of the many reasons why I keep a Buy Music Club list going for all the tracks that get added to my HIP • STIR • HOP playlist that are also available on Bandcamp (at the time of me checking) — so go check that list of headphone treats out whenever you find yourself wanting to reward your ears while also sending out support to those who help keep our lives nicely soundtracked (comes in especially handy on Bandcamp Fridays fyi):
