This 2010s playlist does not attempt to condense things down to a ‘best of the decade’ playlist — attempting those decisions is always way more anxiety than makes sense taking on. Instead, I just keep track of everything I’ve liked over my years of having a music blog, and I have all that stuff sorted by decades and… well, everything pre-2010 is sorted by decades.

But ever since I started incrementally keeping track of exponentially more and more music each year—I can’t be for certain, but I think it probably has something to do with me having a music blog that ends ever year with a ‘20x Current Year’ playlist—I got in the habit of keeping things sorted by year for this decade and beyond (also Spotify only lets you have up to 10,000 tracks in a playlist, same thing for saved/hearted tracks). All that is to say: when it comes to what could be included on this 2010s mix, there’s A LOT of great tunes to choose from.

So I don’t even attempt to think about what should or shouldn’t make the final cut, I just grab a bunch of great tunes from each year & then put together a sweet 95 track mix cd (that I will update/adjust to keep fresh throughout the year/s)…
