Episode 48 - Fraser A. Gorman / Superbloom / The Golden Dregs

Episode 48 - Fraser A. Gorman / Superbloom / The Golden Dregs

Episode 48 of the Mix Tape Radio show went up last Monday (you should go listen to it on Mixcloud or download it on iTunes), and today I continue with the usual 'a few tracks at a time' ramblings about all the tracks that were featured. So if you have a moment, then take that moment and give these three gems a little bit of your ears…

|| (00:29:03) Fraser A. Gorman - Book Of Love ||

When I got my first taste of Fraser A. Gorman on Milk! Records nice little 2014 compilation (which you should go get for yourself), I immediately felt the need to go on a search for some more. Turns out I didn't have to go to far, as Milk! had put out this charming little collection of Gorman greats back in October. It's 6 tracks long. It's 5 Australian dollars. And it's worth every one of those down-under pennies.

|| (00:18:52) Super Bloom - You Are My Wave ||

When somebody puts together a compilation with a Gorgeous Bully track, the odds are pretty good that the whole thing will be a great listen. And this compilation put together by Mouca Records does just that (I was pulled in by the Bully and I left with 10 other ace tracks, including this tasty Superbloom tune). On top of that, I also got acquainted with Mouca, who are doing a lot of cool things / putting out a lot of great music & compilations and are totally worthy of you spending a bit of your day getting to know a little better.

|| (00:42:00) The Golden Dregs - Chance Would Be A Fine Thing ||

The Golden Dregs were probably my favourite discovery of 2014, and while I was preparing a non-sensical rambling for Bandcamp about why I like them so, the best anti-garage blues band in Falmouth managed to sneak out one last piece of evidence for my 'Favourite Discovery of 2014' case. If you've yet to jump on board with me, and if you are also in need of a something to keep your head warm this winter, then you should go kill two birds with one purchase over on their Bandcamp page.

Alright, that's it from me for today. If you made it down here without pushing play or clicking on any of the things above, you should probably head back up and correct that. Maybe even buy the artists a metaphorical pint if you like what you hear. And while we're listing things you should do if you haven't already, you should also probably go listen to the episode that these tracks feature on. And then I'll be back to talk about the songs from the episode that I haven't already talked about.
