If you're thinking "ok… but why?" - then you probably haven't read this. And if you haven't clicked that this, then I'll pull out the most important bit…
“And so all day today (starting at 12:01am Pacific Time), for any purchase you make on Bandcamp, we will be donating 100% of our share of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union, who are working tirelessly to combat these discriminatory and unconstitutional actions.”
And if you're one of those people that's like "I'm one of those people that always needs two reasons" - then you probably haven't read this. Again, I'll pull out the main take away.
"Over 200 artists and labels have joined us in donating their Bandcamp profits today to the ACLU and other organizations in support of immigrants and refugees."
Unless you're one of those people that is not worried about this horrible guy being in charge of decisions that affect us all, the only real decision left to make should be "which music should I buy today and how much?".
Myself, I'm going to start off with this still growing but already awesome charity compilation Our First 100 Days:
Not only is this comp going to end up being 100 tracks deep from a bunch of great artists, but, even more importantly, ALL profits raised (not just today, errday) "go directly to organizations working on the front lines of climate, women's rights, immigration and fairness". Combine that with Bandcamp donating all their profits from today to the ACLU, well that's just a very smart purchase.
Next, after having a rummage around the Wishlist in my Fan Account and probably adding a few more gems to my Collection, you'll probably find me over on Wake The Deaf and Gold Flake Paint. Rummaging. Always rummaging.
